Special Edition Autumn Coastline Sunburst Hexie Blanket Pattern
The weather’s starting to turn in my part of the world and that means I’m totally ready to be snuggled up in a blanket, making blankets and buying ALL THE YARN. While I love the original Coastline Sunburst Hexie Blanket Pattern— this super chunky version has my heart singing! Just like last years Special Edition Island Time Blanket, this one is quick to work up-the colour combinations are endless, and the result is a giant blanket my entire family can curl up under. Movie night…here we come :)
Because of the success and love for last years Special Edition Blankets; Steph (@thecreativeknitter) and I decided that this blanket needed to be a crochet-a-long (CAL). What’s more fun than the squishiest blanket I can think of and building community!? I can think of nothing. I hope you all join us for this years CAL and share our beautiful makes together with the hashtag: #autumncoastlineCAL on INSTAGRAM.
Follow Steph (@thecreativeknitter) and I (@nautikrallcrochet) as well as #autumncoastlineCAL on Instagram for all the updates! We will both be doing another blanket throughout the CAL because-why not, right!?!?!? I’ll have my yarn and colour options listed below and will be posting updates on Instagram throughout. Can’t wait to see all your beautiful makes!!!

Special Edition Island Time Baby Blanket Pattern
It may just be the squishiest, softest baby blanket in existence… If you need a quick make-this one’s for you! I made this baby blanket in 2 days flat (ok, ok, no mortal can crochet as fast as that, if it’s not their full time job…but I promise it is a quickie)!! Had I planned on writing a pattern for it? No, absolutely not. But then I thought…why not, right!? The more free content, the merrier!
Why did I choose this one?? Because a favourite of mine will always be the large sunburst granny square. It makes such an impact and truly is a delight to crochet. I keep coming back to it, over and over again, for good reason!!
For those of you who are hesitant to start a granny square project (for whatever the reason)—I wanted to create a blanket for you to ease into. It starts with an adorable motif, chunky (think: “quick!”), and less squares to make in the end. This blanket has a total of 16 centres all worked in a solid colour so you need not be afraid of all those colour changes. It’s fun, it’s bold, it’s soft & quick. What’s not to love?!
