Intro:
I was recently gifted the Cloudflare Collection from Nicole at Hue Loco Yarn to review. Turns out it’s just so beautiful I decided to make a blanket with it. I’m using my HYGGE BURST BLANKET PATTERN as the base pattern and changing things up just a touch….
I hope you all love this new version—it’s quickly because a favourite at our household!!

The Yarn…
The Cloudflare Collection is a set of 10 colours. From it I used 9 colours to make up the squares for my blanket and saved the very last skein for the contrasting pom pom border of the blanket. I’ve decided that I want Cumulus (a blue colour) to be my border pom poms and the rest of the colours will be worked into 99 squares. —That’s 11 squares from each of the remaining 9 skeins.
I’m going to join my blanket with my forever favourite Bare Swish DK Weight yarn from Knit Picks. Every year during their Black Friday sale I stock up on DK weight and Worsted weight bare yarns from Knit Picks because they’re perfect for joining scarves, blankets, cowls, baby blankets-you name it! I always have a large stash on hand and it hasn’t failed me yet.

How to puff stitch (puff): YO and insert hook into st, YO and pull up a loop (pull up to about the height of a DC). Repeat this 2 more times. There should be 7 loops on the hook. YO and pull through all 7 loops.
How to 4 DC cl: YO and insert hook into sp, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2. Repeat 3 more times. There should be 5 loops on the hook. YO and pull through all 5 loops.
Pattern Notes
Please adjust hook size to meet gauge.
Ch 2 counts as DC throughout.
Ch 3 counts as tr throughout.
In some cases, the video tutorials have been used for other patterns. Please follow the yarn recommendations, hook size and stitch counts in the written pattern- the videos are only meant as visual guides.
Please note that the above quantites of yarn have had 10% added to the amount that was actually used. I had several grams leftover of every colour. There is plenty yarn to make this blanket-you do not need to order more. Swatch and you’ll be fine.
Each skein weighs 100g-Each square weighs 9g. So, if you make 11 squares from 9 skeins it will yield 99 squares and a blanket that is 9x11. I saved the last skein (Colour Cumulus) for the pom pom border.
This blanket is joined with CJAYG (see video tutorial in Blanket Assembly section)- however you can achieve this same look by completing a 4th round of traditional granny square stitches and then using the “zig zag sl st” method of joining to achieve the same braided effect. Please note this requires more yarn so adjust for that.

Assembling Blanket Squares (CJAYG):
With RS of squares face up, lay out all squares in the arrangement from the colour graph above.
Using colour Swish Bare, start in top right-hand corner to join squares across the rows.
Example: First row will be joined from square number 9 across to square number 1. The second row will start with square number 18 and be worked across to square number 10.
Following along with the video tutorial, crochet squares together until blanket is complete.
Once back to the start of the blanket (in the top right-hand corner)- DO NOT FASTEN OFF.
You are now ready to start border Round 1.
