Sock Set Stash Buster Hygge Burst Blanket Pattern

Socks sets…I have them, I cannot resist them…I’m betting you might have one or two kicking around in your stash as well. I don’t know about you, but I’ve nary a plan to knit a sock (or crochet a sock, for that matter). So, what do we do with them? Well it was my mission to make a blanket. This wasn’t the blanket I had originally planned (I’m still working on the original pattern design….needs tweeking), but in the meantime, this one was a good start!

I had a blast relaxing into this project and I think you will too! Happiest crocheting everyone :)

NautiKrall Crochet x Hue Loco Succulents 2025 Blanket CAL

The Succulents Yarn Subscription is a set of 12 new surprise colour ways from Hue Loco Yarn. From it, I used the 12 colours to make up the main squares for the Succulents Granny Square CAL blanket design. Each month a surprise skein of yarn will show up in the mail and from it you make the squares for the blanket. At the end of the year, the blanket is joined up. The blanket construction is made up of two squares: sunburst granny squares and solid granny squares in an alternating pattern. Each month you make 10 squares according to the schedule listed in the pattern below…

Ebony Granny Squares Blanket Pattern x Nightfall Collection by Hue Loco Yarn

a kind of patchwork effect. It’s subtle, and focuses more on the art of beautiful hand dyed yarns rather than a quilted effect. However, it still shines through just a bit. —And you know just how much I love a quilt inspired blanket :)

Hygge Burst Scarf Pattern x Rosé Collection by Hue Loco Yarn

Adding yet another addition to the Hygge Burst Family of patterns! I adore this scarf. Originally, I had planned on making a shawl—and maybe I still will….but I’m super glad I switched to scarf at the last minute. I’m definitely more of a scarf girlie and this one is totally scrumptious. I made this one out of sock weight yarn in Hue Loco’s newest Rosé Collection. The colours are beautifully wearable, the drape is incredible… and I can tell this will be a go-to piece in my wardrobe for the remainder of the Autumn and Winter season.

Hygge (pronouced “Hue-guh”) is a Scandinavian word meaning everything that is cozy, happy, special, warm and nice. It’s used as a noun, a verb and an adjective! I fell in love with the idea of hygge after reading The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well by Meik Wiking. For me, this scarf encompasses all the warmth, coziness and happiness that you can get. I hope you all feel the same too.

Pineapple Granny Square Blanket Pattern

It’s bright, fun and perfectly summer. What is it about Pineapples!? I just love them…to eat and to look at! I wanted a simple, yet colourful version of a pineapple to curl up in. Made with simple, 3-round starburst squares, cozy yarns and seamed together later. This granny square blanket is good enough to eat ;)

A colourful, seasonal delight! This version of my Hygge Burst Pillow is exactly what you should be making this summer. Hue Loco Yarn did a fantastic job of encapsulating all the colours or Wildflowers in her stunning new collection.

I’ve decided that I’ll be adding the option to purchase the PDF for this pattern (down below), but if you’re interested in the original Hygge Burst Pillow, it can be found here: Original Hygge Burst Pillow Pattern.

Hope you love this new version just as much as I do :)

Coastline Sunburst Hexie Baby Blanket Pattern

I truly hope you enjoy this relaxing make. It’s based on the original Coastline Sunburst Hexie Blanket Pattern I released last year-but with a twist! I’ve included half hexies for the top and bottom of the blanket for a really finished look.

With a smaller selection of colours, no colour changes and motifs that are packable—this project promises to be the bring-a-long staple. Join them all up later with a continuous join as you go for hexagons and you’ve got yourself the perfect project to ring in the summer with. Happy Crocheting :)

Hygge Burst Hexie Blanket Pattern x Geode Collection by Hue Loco Yarn

The original Hygge Burst Hexie Blanket Pattern encompasses all the warmth, coziness and happiness that you can get from a blanket. I wanted the same feeling with this pattern—but brighter and fun for spring and summer. This particular collection is extra special to me. I love the Geode theme and the colours are absolutely gorgeous. They’re bright, pastel colours but with warm undertones that are perfectly wearable and make beautiful home accessories. Because of this, I chose to join my blanket with a brownish-grey colour that really brings out the earthy qualities of this collection.

I hope you love it! Happy crocheting everyone :)

Nature’s Palette Hexie CAL | NautiKrall Crochet x The Creative Knitter (2024)…

For the last few years I’ve signed up for a year’s worth of yarn. It’s called a “monthly yarn subscription” consisting of 12 months of surprise skeins in the mail. Each month I crocheted the skeins into a Granny Stripe Blanket (1st year) and for the past year I’ve been making a granny square blanket from the “Year of Surprises Blanket Pattern” — this year I’m doing it again!!

You see, I thought I would try and make myself a temperature blanket. I started, stopped, amended, started again…and again…and again….

Eventually, after trying and failing to decide which kind of pattern I wanted for my temperature blanket, I decided it was way too big of a commitment for me (with the amount of other things I usually have on the go). But, I still liked the idea of a “yearly” blanket…. cue: the yarn subscriptions.

I discovered the idea of the yarn subscription sort of by chance—but loved the idea way more than a temperature blanket. Surprise, hand dyed merino wool in the mail…every month!?!?! -Sign me up!!

Island Time Scarf -Free Crochet Pattern

When I started thinking about making another Island Time Shawl….I knew I wanted it to be a bit smaller (and more wearable with a heavy winter coat), solid coloured and well….I quickly realized I didn’t want a shawl. What I wanted, was a scarf! Hence, the last free pattern of the year: The Island Time Scarf Pattern. It’s wide enough for full coverage, long enough to wrap twice, and finished off with the sweetest triangular bottom and pom. It’s all about the details :) I chose to make mine monochrome—but the colour options are endless. It’s definitely a pattern I’ll be coming back to again and again.

So, grab your favourite DK weight yarn and lets get started!!

Special Edition Basic Sunburst Pillow Pattern

Something I get asked often is: “Do I have to use JAYG (join as you go) or CJAYG (continuous join as you go) to join my squares?” The answer? -No! Of course not, there are many beautiful ways to join squares! This pillow pattern is meant to encourage those who haven’t made a pillow yet to try (because the above-mentioned methods may seem intimidating to first time crocheters). These squares are just slip stitched together and the result is a perfectly squishy pillow you can feel good about. Not only are the colour options endless-the sunburst squares always fill me with joy. Work them up solid coloured for an easy, carefree crochet experience OR change up the colours each round and create a multicolored masterpiece— just like the timeless granny squares Nan used to make :)

For now thought, I hope you’re all loving the light-hearted colour combos of these Hexagons. Happy crocheting everyone :)
