Intro:

We’re coming up on summer and this project is worthy of sandy coastlines and sun dried driftwood. I gravitated towards these colours because I’m craving all the beach vibes right now—living in the midst of some of the biggest lakes in the world means I’m surrounded by water (literally!) and it’s apart of my soul. For those who know me or who’ve been following from the beginning…you know that I’m a lover of the water and sailing. This blanket (and the next few patterns to follow) will be indicative of just that. Earthy, beachy, sun-kissed with just a hint of sparkling water.

I truly hope you enjoy this relaxing make. With a smaller selection of colours, no colour changes and motifs that are packable—this project promises to be the bring-a-long staple. Join them all up later with a continuous join as you go for hexagons and you’ve got yourself the perfect project to ring in the summer with. Happy Crocheting :)

Pattern Notes

  • Gauge will affect yarn quantities, please adjust hook size to meet gauge.

  • Ch 2 counts as DC throughout.

  • Please note that the differences in yarn quantities above depict differences in tension and possible skein variances. I made the same number of sunbursts for each colour.

  • The Colour Legend is my attempt to provide you with colour accurate photos/generic colour names that you can use if you’d like to find an alternative yarn (the actual yarn name will be provided below in brackets).

  • I made 18 sunbursts of each colour.

  • Blanket is constructed using CJAYG, where each motif is turned into a hexagon while joining the next motif in the blanket. If you choose to join your blanket a different way-please note yarn quantities will differ (you’ll need more).

  • Don’t forget to share your makes on Instagram and Facebook! I always love seeing what you have all worked up. Tag me on Instagram @nautikrallcrochet or Facebook @nautikrall_crochet, or use the hashtag: #coastlinehexieblanket
